Reese Witherspoon and her husband Jim Toth were arrested in Atlanta on April 19 and Atlanta's FOX5 News obtained the video of the Academy Award winner in handcuffs.

The video, which was also obtained by TMZ, shows the Walk The Line actress being led out of a police car. Reese is dressed in sneakers and the handcuffs placed behind her are eventually taken off as she is led into the police station.

The Hollywood power couple was pulled over because Toth was driving the couple's rented Ford Fusion in the wrong lane. He was arrested for DUI and Reese was arrested for disorderly conduct because she became irate as her husband was being questioned. The Legally Blonde actress said to the officer who pulled them over, "You're about to find out who I am ... You are going to be on national news," according to the police report.

The police report was written by a Georgia State Patrol trooper and Radar Online obtained the document, which read as follows:

“After I had administered the PBT Mrs. Witherspoon began to hang out the window and say that she did not believe that I was a real police officer.

“Mrs. Witherspoon stated that she was a ‘US Citizen’ and that she was allowed to ‘stand on American ground.’ I put my hands on Mrs. Witherspoon’s arms to arrest her. Mrs. Witherspoon was resistant but I was able to put handcuffs on her without incident due to Mr.Toth calming her down. Mrs. Witherspoon asked, ‘Do you know my name?’ I answered ‘No. I don’t need to know your name.’ I then added, ‘right now.’ Mrs. Witherspoon stated, ‘You’re about to find out who I am.’ ”

Witherspoon released a statement on Sunday where she issued a public apology. She admitted she clearly had one drink too many" and added, "I deeply embarrassed about the things I said."

"It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse," she said. "I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."

Witherspoon’s friend Chelsea Handler defended the actress and added that she is “doing fine.”

"She was just trying to protect her husband, so...I mean everybody makes mistakes, so it's not a big deal," Handler told Us Weekly on Monday.
