New details continue to unfold about the remaining episodes leading up to Grey's Anatomy's season 9 finale in May, and a natural disaster is set to rock the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and its staff.

A natural disaster similar to Superstorm Sandy will occur in the May 9 episode titled Readiness Is All, and the hospital will continue to face its fury on the finale on May 16 is titled Perfect Storm. The weather-related disaster will "cause the staff to go into crisis mode" and be "very intense," with a lot of major things expected to change for some of the main characters, according to TV Guide.

Chandra Wilson, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey on the ABC series, teased about the episode to Entertainment Weekly: "There's just a lot of things that are going on in the hospital at the same time. So there's an urgency in the next few episodes, as well, just leading into one of our infamous season finales."

"I can say that we have a huge super-storm that's headed to Seattle and you can take that in however many ways you want to take it," Wilson revealed about the finale. "So because of that, the hospital is in crisis mode - because that's what we like to do."

Grey's Anatomy finales have showcased in the past plane crashes and hospital shootings, so fans are not surprised to see the hospital head toward another disaster.

The investigation by the Center for Disease Control will begin in Thursday's new episode, Sleeping Monster, as a follow-up to several post-surgical infections. Bailey is at the center of the case since she treated all the patients affected and Wilson said about her character, "You know, unfortunately, Bailey is the type of person who takes things personally. A lot of it is just really personal - the way she's treated."

The outcome of the investigation "will have repercussions" for Bailey, the actress added.

Grey's Anatomy returns on Thursday with Sleeping Monster and its finale airs May 16 at 9 p.m. on ABC. Former One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton makes a guest appearance in the May 2 episode.
