'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast: Alex Pettyfer Backed By Top Director For Christian Grey, Films Him In Sex Scene [VIDEO]
In what surely is a serious bid for the groundbreaking role of Christian Grey, director Gus Van Sant has reportedly put together a teaser reel of Magic Mike's Alex Pettyfer portraying the S&M-crazed CEO in Fifty Shades of Grey.
According to The Wrap, Van Sant shot the racy footage as an unsolicited tryout of sorts for Universal Pictures and Focus Features, who are two companies behind the saucy flick's distribution.
The respective Pettyfer scene features the narrator of the erotica, Anastasia Steele, giving up her virginity to Grey. However, the identity of the actress portraying Steele hasn't been confirmed.
Although Pettyfer is set to star in Universal's upcoming picture Endless Love, a decision by the studio for the part of Grey has yet to be made.
Interestingly enough, Van Sant has worked closely to Focus in the past, having done two movies for them in Promised Land and Milk.
If the director himself were to get involved with Fifty Shades, it could serve to add some more enamor to the highly anticipated project, as he already has two nominations for Academy Awards under his belt.
The Fifty Shades of Grey premise revolves around Steele, who gets herself involved in a dominant and submissive sexual relationship with Grey. Through a mutual "agreement," the two delve into the world of bondage and masochism.
Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is currently in the midst of penning the movie script, recently stated that she'd be staying true to the book with an abundance of sex and raunchiness.
The Van Sant director clip has yet to surface on the Internet. However, a fan-made trailer of Pettyfer can be watched below.
Producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to Style.com. Although they have yet to attach a director to the franchise, the film is slated for a big screen release in the summer of 2014.
