Kim Zolciak Talks 'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Return, NeNe Leakes & Kandi Burruss Lawsuit (VIDEO)
Kim Zolciak and her husband, Kroy Biermann, sat together for an exclusive interview to discuss the show she quit, Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the troubles surrounding show's cast members.
Together, the couple discussed NeNe Leakes, RHOA's season 5 reunion show, Kandi Burruss' lawsuit against her and if she would ever considering returning to RHOA.
"I can't say that I won't return to Real Housewives of Atlanta," the mother of four told Us Weekly. "Housewives brings its own little spice."
Zolciak explained her relationship with Leakes, who will also launch her own spinoff, I Dream Of NeNe, on Bravo this fall.
"NeNe, she's funny. We're not best friends," Zolciak explained of their relationship. "You can't have all the damage that's been done between me and her throughout the years and kind of pick up where you left off," she said. "However, we do communicate We just decided to just move past it. Let the past be just that because prior to Real Housewives of Atlanta, we were friends and we will be friends long after Housewives of Atlanta.
"What happened is we kind of let a lot of people get into our head, production and a lot of people just around and your filming and she said this and he said that and you don't communicate, NeNe and I are not good communicators," she explained of their troubled past. "You believe what people tell you and you ran with it. So I think the reunion was a turning point--I started this whole journey with her five years ago."
Biermann explained why his wife appeared on the RHOA season 5 reunion show.
"I think she did it to let America know why she left and to give her side of the story," said the Atlanta Falcons star. "Anybody can say what they want when you're not there to defend yourself and just argue and run their mouth and do what they want."
Zolciak shared how she felt about Burruss' lawsuit over the single, Don't Be Tardy.
"Kandi doesn't have a ground to stand on," she said of the petition that was filed in March the day they taped the reunion show. "I just actually responded to her lawsuit yesterday. I had up to a certain amount of time to respond and my lawyers responded. Her claim is so ridiculous," she added.
The reality star then explained why she has more respect for Leakes than Burruss.
"The difference between Kandi and NeNe is that NeNe and I have a lot of history together, we've gone through a lot of things but for you to go to through the legal system talking about you want to file a lawsuit? And you want to file it the day before the reunion? And you want to have Phaedra as your lawyer? Ad you're costing me thousands of dollars? But she's not going for money, ok?... I overpaid her."
Last week, Bravo aired the second season of Zolciaks' reality show, Don't Be Tardy, which was previously titled, Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding.
The reality show follows Zolciak and her NFL player husband, Biermann, 27, their two sons KJ, nearly 2, Kash, 8 months and her two daughters from a previous relationship, Brielle, 13, and Ariana, 12.
Don't Be Tardy airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
