Draya Michele might be out of the reality TV spotlight, but she is still making headlines. In the latest news concerning the star, she came under lots of fire after she dissed her newborn son, Jru.

A fan asked Draya, who welcomed the child on April 8, why she hasn’t shown photos of his face just yet.

Her answer?

“He’s just a bit too young and still changing. (In other words, he’s ugly)…”

While she might have just been trying to explain the awkward phase her son could be going through as a new baby, many took offense to her statement and called her out for it on Twitter.


Still, some fans were all here for Draya being “real” about her child.

Draya then took to her own Twitter to clear up the comments. She said her son has suffered from eczema and is a little “rashy.” But she also set the record straight on the ugly statement and reassured fans that he is “cute” and “beautiful.” She added, “Some of these blogs are determined to keep people convinced that I’m a monster. I’m just thankful for the many people who understand my humor… I don’t owe it to anyone.”

Draya and her longtime fiancé, Orlando Scandrick of the Dallas Cowboys, welcomed Jru earlier this year. The two had lots of drama of their own that made headlines during the early stages of their engagement. Still, it’s safe to say things worked out because she announced her pregnancy with Jru months later. This is their first child together. Draya is mom to 13-year-old Kniko and Scandrick is father to twin daughters.
