Nick Cannon has quit his morning radio show after doctors warned him to slow down or risk serious health consequences.

“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule,” Cannon said in a statement today.

Today marked Cannon's last day on his Rollin' With Nick Cannon radio show on 92.3 NOW in New York, but he'll continue to host America's Got Talent on NBC.

Cannon was hospitalized for mild kidney failure last month and ended up back in the hospital last weekend, where doctors found two blood clots in his lungs, along with an enlarged ventricle in his heart. Doctors told the 31-year-old that if he didn't slow his pace "and stop working so hard, then it's a wrap!"

He acknowledged the need to take it easy, saying, "even Superman has to sleep." There's not much chance of that these days -- Cannon and wife Mariah Carey are parents to 9-month-old twins.
