Lady Gaga Godmother to Elton John's Second Baby Elijah with Partner David Furnish
Elton John has named Lady Gaga to be the godmother of his second son, Elijah.
John spoke to Extra on April 25 and made the announcement that he and his partner, David Furnish, have once again called on the pop superstar to be a prominent figure in the lives of their children. The Born This Way singer is already godmother to their eldest son, Zachary.
"She's a great role model. She's young. She's been a great godmother to Zachary," John said.
"We're all bonkers in this business, but we're human beings at the same time."
John said that Gaga has already been hands on with his new son who was born this past January. He said she paid him and his family a visit in Las Vegas shortly after the birth. He is performing a show, The Million Dollar Piano' at Caesars Palace.
"She was already dressed to go to the show, and she was sitting there and she bathed him, and she was dressed like Audrey Hepburn," John said.
In 2011, both John and Furnish knew that they had made the right decision in trusting Gaga with the well being of their child. They explained to Barbara Walters why she was the person they were looking for.
"There's a real simple person under there who loves her parents," John said.
Furnish was just as complimentary to the over the stop singer who is known for her provocative ways. She arrived at the Grammy's in 2011 in an egg.
"Zachary's going to inherit an incredible musical legacy from his father one day," he said.
"And she will be a good person to guide him through the ins and outs of the music business, 'cause she sure knows everything about the business now."
Lady Gaga spoke of the honor she felt at being chosen the first time around in an interview after Zachary's birth.
"Zachary's so beautiful. I could not see a happier family than I see in them. I gave him a bath the other day," she said.
"We have this sweet little boat for pouring water to rinse soap off Zachary and as I'm pouring, Elton is singing Tiny Dancer and I'm thinking, 'This kid has no clue that his father is such a legend'."
