Louisville head coach Rick Pitino fulfilled his promise by getting a tattoo after his team won the 2013 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship.

Louisville sports information director Kenny Klein revealed the news via Twitter when he uploaded shirtless photos of Pitino sporting his new ink.

The tattoo is located on the left side of his back, right beneath his shoulder which feature a "L" script logo written with the words "2013 NCAA Champions 35-5."

"Louisville Coach Rick Pitino follows through on his promise to his team to get a tattoo," Klein tweeted.

On Thursday, reports indicated that the coach went to a tattoo parlor with his equipment manager Vinnie Tatum.

"I'm definitely going to get it done." Pitino said.

During a press conference Wednesday with Louisville guard Russ Smith, Pitino vowed that he would get inked before Derby at a parlor on Bardstown Road in Kentucky.

"Vinnie's came out great," Pitino said. "I wanted to see if he yelled."

At the press conference, Smith also announced that he would be postponing a shot in the 2013 NBA draft to finish his last year at college.

The 6-foot, 165-pound guard who led the Cardinals to the championship averaged 18.7 points per game. Smith learned that he'd probably be a second-round pick if he entered his name in this year's draft.

"The pros want to see a different Russ," Pitino said. "They want to see 10 more pounds of muscle. They want to see better shot selection, a higher assist-turnover ratio."

Smith said with the help of Pitino, he can make it first round of next year's NBA draft.

"I feel like I can do whatever I put my mind to, especially because I have a great coach right here and he's directing me to do the right things," Smith said about Pitino. "If I have to make certain plays or tweak something, which I will, then that's the game plan. I'm all for winning."
