'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Casting: Anastasia Candidate Kaya Scodelario Addresses Prospect of Saucy Role, VIDEO
The casting suspense over the film adaptation of E.L. James' erotica Fifty Shades of Grey continues to build up and one of the names that may have slipped under the Grey-dar for the role of Anastasia Steele is English actress Kaya Scodelario.
With her flowing brown hair, hypnotizing blue eyes, and slim figure, the 21-year-old undoubtedly has all the attributes necessary to pull of the role of the shy, college alumni.
However, Scodelario may seem like a suitable candidate but she continues to deny that she'd ever get involved with the project. The Skins actress said she is "nowhere near confident enough" to strip naked for the film, which will most certainly involve being nude.
In an interview with the London Evening Standard, she addressed the topic of Fifty Shades of Grey.
"I'm not comfortable doing nudity. That's something quite personal," she said. "My mum's always asked me not to do it and I respect her... Considering what the [Fifty Shades of Grey] film is about, I wouldn't be able to [play Anastasia]."
Scodelario aside, the top contenders for the Steele role include former Gilmore Girls' standout Alexis Bledel, Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev and Bling Ring's Emma Watson. Although the producers have yet to officially attach a director to the film, Fifty Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in the summer of 2014. The film will be shot in London.
