Although HBO's True Blood is still a few months away until its highly anticipated release in June, spoilers on the popular series still continue to come out.

Season 5 capped off with Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) and his main squeeze, Luna (Janina Gavankar) going above and beyond to save the latter's daughter, Emma (Chloe Noelle) from the spokesman of the American Vampire League, Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian).

The respective course of events resulted in Sam exposing his shape shifting abilities on live television while Luna was nearly comatose.

Meanwhile, Alcide (Joe Manganiello) forcefully embraced his werewolf lineage and became the new packmaster of Shreveport.

Interestingly enough, the sixth season will reportedly feature Manganiello's character coming across Emma and her protectors.

In the latest behind-the-scenes footage of the upcoming season, Alcide's new girlfriend, Rikki (Kelly Overton) looks to be irritated by Emma's grandmother, Martha Bozeman (Dale Dickey). This is due to her intentions to remove Emma from their protection. However, a pissed off Alcide confronts her over it, but Rikki (Kelly Overton) doesn't look to be backing down.

In TB casting news, Unreality TV reported that True Blood's newest season will introduce its audience to a fascinating man played by Rutger Hauer, that will have unknown ties to Sookie and Jason.

Karolina Wydra is set to don the role of a sexy vampire, Robet Kazinksy will become Sookie's new love interest, Arliss Howard will play Governor Truman Burell and lastly, Amelia Rose Blaire will step into the part of her daughter.
