'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast: The Case for Jennifer Lawrence as the Future Anastasia Steele, VIDEO
Casting chatter over the film adaptation of E.L. James' Fifty Shades of Grey continues to increase exponentially.
While Magic Mike actor Alex Pettyfer seems to be the frontrunner for Christian Grey, Jennifer Lawrence had also come up recently for the role of Anastasia Steele. As one of Hollywood's hottest young stars, Lawrence would surely be a welcomed addition to the saucy role, as she has all the attributes to nab it.
With her natural looking beauty and uncanny acting chops, Lawrence undoubtedly has what it takes to pull off the sexy character. To top it off, she's the same age as the Anastasia character - 22.
If the Fifty Shades executives behind the film could have it their way the Hunger Games standout would be their gal for the part of the shy, college alumni, according to Hollywood Life. The actress also has quite the backing, as Vanity Fair reported in January that one million men think Lawrence is the "world's most desirable woman."
Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is in the midst of penning the movie script, stated that the flick would be staying true to the book with lots of sex and raunchiness. Producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to a write-up in Style magazine.
Although the producers have yet to officially attach a director to the franchise, Fifty Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in the summer of 2014. The film will be shot in London.
