The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital try to stop Miranda Bailey from ending her career after she feels completely at fault for the death of three post-surgical patients that died from an infection linked back to her.

An investigation by the Center of Disease Control proved that Bailey was the only attendee to operate on all three patients that developed fatal infections, though the real cause the infection was defective surgical gloves used during the operation. Even though she is ultimately found innocent, Bailey gives her fellow attendees the cold shoulder for not supporting her during the investigation.

A sneek peek clip for episode 22, titled Do You Believe in Magic, shows Bailey getting a visit from her husband Ben who hopes - but fails - to convince her that it was not her negligence that caused the deaths. Bailey feels so guilty though, and could she be on the verge of quitting her job?

"It was my fault. It was my infection. I put my hands in those patients and they died. I operated on them and they died," Bailey tells Ben. "I knew their families, and they all died because of me."

The doctors are later shown trying to apologize to Bailey, with Derek Shepard saying they need her in the hospital and Jackson Avery adding, "We all want to apologize."

"Bailey we need you," Shepard says. "This hospital doesn't work without you."

Do You Believe in Magic airs Thursday on ABC at 9 p.m. ET. Former One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton makes a guest appearance in the May 2 episode as the newest craniofacial specialist at the hospital.

The official synopsis for episode 23 - Readiness is All - was released by the network recently. The May 9 episode will show a major storm coming to Seattle similar to Superstorm Sandy.

Grey's Anatomy's season two, two-part finale airs May 16 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
