Jennifer Aniston & Justin Theroux Wedding Date Postponed Because of Brad Pitt? PHOTOS
Jennifer Aniston is reportedly postponing her summer wedding because of ex-husband Brad Pitt.
The Friends actress wanted to wed Justin Theroux this summer but those plans changed because of Pitt, according to Us Weekly. Aniston did not want to be caught in the whirlwind of her ex-husband marrying Angelina Jolie, and she did not want anyone to think she was in competition with the couple. She has decided to push back her nuptials to avoid any appearance of coincidences.
"She does not want her day associated with them," a source told the magazine.
The source added that Aniston tried to convince her fiancée to move up their wedding. He refused the request, however, as he was put off by how she was acting. The insider said, "Justin got weirded out by all the rushing."
Aniston and Pitt famously divorced in 2005 after he left her for Jolie. After many failed relationships, she found love with director and actor Theroux. They met while starring together in the movie Wanderlust. Their engagement was announced in August 2012.
"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," his rep told People at the time..
Before the engagement was announced Aniston spoke of being in a great place in her life, saying it was because of Theroux.
"Yes, I'm very happy. I'm extremely lucky, and I'm extremely happy," she said.
By the time Aniston and Theroux made it official, Brangelina did as well. After seven years of dating and six kids, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-stars announced their intentions to wed. Some believed that the timing of the two engagements was ironic.
"I don't think it's coincidental," PR expert Cherie Kerr told E! "It does seem like every time there has been some big thing from Brangelina's camp, something else comes out on Aniston.'
Kerr said that these overlapping events only served to bring up bad memories for Aniston.
"Even if it wasn't done on purpose, why not wait so the announcement could have focused on just her?" she said. "Now it just reminds everyone of Jennifer Aniston's sad past."
