Go Pro Hero 5 News: New Action Camera To Put Go Pro Back On The Map [VIDEO]
The GoPro Hero 5 is expected to launch anytime soon. The new action camera is expected to place the company back on the map.
GoPro was once considered as one of the world's most formidable camera brands. With a series of flops in recent years and diminishing public demand for its compact cameras, however, the firm has found itself in dire straits.
Things can change for the better soon, however, as GoPro is set to unveil a couple of new devices in the form of the Hero 5 and the Karma drone, which is speculated to be released next Monday, Sept. 19.
GoPro Hero 5 the Most Important GoPro Ever?
While GoPro is also speculated to unveil the company's first-ever drone, the GoPro Karma, the real star of next Monday's event is the Hero 5 action camera, the long-awaited successor to the company's aging flagships, Hero4 Silver and Hero4 Black, which are almost two years old.
Senior analyst for Gap Intelligence Scott Peterson has expressed his belief that the Hero 5 is one of the firm's most important devices in recent years, and that the upcoming Sept. 19 launch would most likely be the company's most prominent chance to get back on its feet.
GoPro Hero 5 Rumored Specs and Features
With the Hero 5 succeeding the high-spec and impressive Hero4 line, rumors have stated that the action camera maker's new device would be one little, powerful device. Though GoPro has not formally unveiled the device's specs and features, speculations point to the Hero 5 being capable of recording 8K videos at 30fps and 4K videos at 60fps.
Options for 1080p video are also rumored to be available, with footage recording at an impressive 240fps. Rumors also state that the Hero 5, even without its casing, would also be waterproof for up to 10 feet of water.
Apart from these, rumors are also high that the GoPro Hero 5 would feature a 1,220mAh battery and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The Hero 5 would also allegedly forego the iconic Power/Mode button in front of the camera.
