Nicole Eggert, who will compete in next week's Splash season finale, opened up about the success she achieved with her weight loss from training for ABC's surprise hit show.

In a recent interview, Eggert, 41, admitted the challenges of losing the weight she gained when she gave birth to her second child six months before her 40th birthday.

The former Baywatch actress has two daughters, Dilyn, 14, and Keegan, 20 months.

"I was eating and exercising but something was off. I saw a doctor and he said I had a hormonal imbalance," Eggert told People. "It's shallow because the person inside is the same person. Dilyn knew me at 98 pounds and she knew me at 160 pounds when I was pregnant with Keegan. When the paparazzi would follow me and judge me it really upset her."

Eggert shared that she started working out before the taping of Splash and she lost 35 pounds in the process. Eggert said she has lost more weight since the show premiered.

"[It] helped me build muscle," she said of the training. "It was really hard, every day, six-to-eight hours a day of gymnastics, trampoline work and diving. But it did wonders for my body."

Splash contestant Brandi Chastain was eliminated after she garnered an average score of 3.25. The show also offered a Mystery Masked Diver who turned out to be pro skateboarder Tony Hawk.

ABC will air Splash season finale on Tuesday, May 7. The final three contestants will compete by performing a high-dive of their choice and the studio audience will select the winner.

The previous contestants that were eliminated earlier in the season will come back to the pool for a final dive.

Prior to the Splash season finale, Eggert will also appear in Past Lies, a Lifetime Original Movie that will premiere on May 3.
