Amanda Bynes Reconnects With Family After Months of Odd Behavior
After months of estrangement, Amanda Bynes has reportedly reconnected with her parents.
Bynes cut off contact with her parents Rick Bynes and Lynn Organ as her odd behavior became more frequent in the past few months. She has shaved her head and posed topless on Twitter. She took to Twitter on April 11 to publicly deny having anything to do with her parents.
"I don't speak to my parents anymore, they don't talk to reporters on my behalf. Don't believe anything you read about me unless I tweet it," she tweeted.
Since then, Bynes has had a change of heart. A source told RadarOnline that there has been a breakthrough with the actress.
"Amanda reconnected with her parents this week and it was a really positive talk on both ends," the source said. "Her parents are good people who are genuinely concerned for her. And Amanda misses them, so she finally called them up."
The insider believed that an in person reunion could be possible between all parties. It would be the first time that the 26-year old has seen her parents in months.
"The last place Amanda wants to be is Los Angeles. She likes New York and doesn't want to leave," the source said. "But Amanda's parents really want to see her so they're thinking of flying out to New York as early as next week."
Once they arrive, Bynes' parents will be doing an intake of their daughter. They want to see how much she has fallen with their own eyes.
"Amanda is totally acting odd, but she's not crazy at all like people are making her out to be," the source said. "She's just going through a hard time in her life and maybe not coping with it like she should be."
The visit will be the latest attempt by the star's parents to help her. They put their Texas home for sale in September 2012 so that they could move out to Los Angeles. Her Uncle, Ronald Bynes, spoke to Celebuzz and shared his frustration at the time. He said they were not doing enough.
"I don't even think they know what's going on with her. They're very upset about her recent problems, but they're in the dark," he said.
