Adele one again stole the show at last night's Brit Awards when when she flipped the bird after being cut off during her acceptance speech.

"I flung the middle finger. That was for the suits at the Brit Awards, not my fans. I'm sorry if I offended anyone but the suits offended me," said the cheeky 23-year-old megastar.

Adele made the obscene gesture after producers asked host James Corden to wrap up her speech.

"I just feel bad about having to cut Adele off," Corden told ITV2 after the show. "I really don't understand quite why I was made to . . . She's the biggest star in the world. I don't understand what happened, but I'm upset about it."

Adele, who had been about to thank fans for their support when she was cut off, took home two trophies -- album of the year and best British female solo artist. In a year that's barely started, Adele has also picked up six Grammys.

Now everyone is apologizing for last night's faux pas.

"The Brits is a live event," ITV said in a statement. "Unfortunately, the program was over-running and we had to move on. We would like to apologize to Adele for the interruption."

And a Brit Awards spokesperson said: "We regret this happened and we send our deepest apologies to Adele that her big moment was cut short this evening due to the live show over-running. We don't want this to undermine her incredible achievement in winning our night's biggest award. It tops off what's been an incredible year for her."
