Alexia Echevarria Son: 'RHOM' Ex-Husband Herman Is Found Dead, Car Accident Update [VIDEO]
Herman Echevarria, the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Miami star Alexia Echevarria, was found dead on Monday morning in a hotel room in Miami.
Years after the couple starred together on the Bravo reality series, the sad news has been confirmed.
"The businessman didn't show up to work and was not answering calls ... prompting his family to check on him," TMZ revealed to readers on Monday. "Police confirmed he died at the Epic Hotel. Sources tell us they believe Herman suffered a heart attack, but the coroner has yet to determine cause of death."
Herman and Alexia separated in 2015 and recently divorced.
In response to the sad news, Alexia released a statement on her Instagram page.
"The Echevarria family is heartbroken over the sudden passing of our patriarch Herman Echevarria this morning," she wrote to her fans and followers. "He was a family man, a hardworking businessman, dedicated to helping others and a pillar of his community that was loved by everyone who’s life he touched. We ask that you Please respect our privacy during this time of grieving."
Just last year, Alexia was celebrating happier times when her youngest son, Frankie, began to make physical strides years after a traumatic car accident in 2011 nearly took his life.
"Sharing a bit of my happiness with you all this morning!!" she wrote on Instagram last summer along with a clip of her son playing basketball. "@frankierosello #Blessed #MiraclesExist #Health #Fitness #Summer #PaceHighSchool #BasketballCamp."
