Even as Angelina Jolie goes through with divorce proceedings, she is still reportedly "devastated" about the dissolution of her relationship with Brad Pitt.
It can be painful to end an 11-year relationship, even with all the bad times considered. That's what Jolie is apparently dealing with as she prepares to divorce from Pitt. Ultimately, though, she is doing what she needs to do to protect their six children.
"Angelina is devastated that it has come to this but will do everything in her power to protect her family," an insider told Us Weekly, of the divorce.
A representative for Jolie said the day following the divorce news that the "decision was made for the health of the family."
Meanwhile, Pitt has been distraught all week after being blindsided by his wife's decision.
"He is beside himself and has been crying. He was completely caught off guard and blindsided and had no idea she would do this," a different insider told Us Weekly. "Angelina filed the court papers a minute before the courts closed on Monday night. He didn't have a lawyer or anything."
In the mean time, there have been all sorts of rumors that Pitt cheated on Jolie with his Allied co-star, Marion Cotillard, though the French actress has vehemently denied this. The actress took to Instagram to get all of her feelings out on the nasty tabloid reports.
