'Star Trek: Into Darkness' Movie Star Alice Eve Eats 'Mostly Spinach' in Preparation for Her Role [TRAILER]
When Alice Eve was offered to play the role of Dr. Carol Marcus in Star Trek: Into Darkness, she began eating meals that consisted of almost only spinach.
The actress continued the diet for the 5 months during the filming of the movie. When asked how she prepared for her role, the 31-year-old actress said, “The only thing I can reveal is that I haven't eaten much apart from spinach for weeks."
“You’ve got to look as if you can hold your own on the Enterprise, and that means you’ve got to be in proper fighting shape,” she added.
Eve, who is featured in her bra and underwear in promo shots for the film, had also played in Men in Black 3, Sex and the City 2 and She's Out Of My League, among others films.
Although Eve’s diet may be one of the extremes, it is not uncommon for Hollywood stars to watch their weight in preparation for a role. Anne Hathaway lost weight in preparation for her Catwoman role in The Dark Knight, while Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis went on serious diets in order to play ballerinas in Black Swan.
