Jodi Arias Trial Live Stream, WATCH ONLINE Jury Deliberations to Reach a Verdict; Arias Tweets Suicide & Nancy Grace Diss
As jury deliberations are underway to determine the ruling for Jodi Arias, who was charged for the 2008 murder of her ex-lover Travis Alexander, the alleged suspect used her friend to send out a chilling tweet on her Twitter account.
Arias' friend, Donovan Bering, tweeted on her behalf that she contemplated suicide on Mondaym and that she would have accepted a plea deal "years ago." She also took a jab at HLNTV news reporter Nancy Grace.
Bering wrote four tweets for Arias as the clock ticks for the world to learn of her fate for committing the gruesome crime:
"I would have signed a plea years ago to avoid this disaster, but I was refused a plea as the State and the family refused to settle...I wanted so much to avoid trial but the State forced it. My only other option was suicide and,well...Re: commissary, many of the items I didn't receive were for indigent girls less fortunate than me. I,thankfully, have a mini surplus of food...N. DisGrace has set back the cause of all women who have survived domestic violence. Her circus makes a mockery of something very serious."
Enstars reported on April 12 that Arias has a Twitter account and has been using someone outside of jail to write tweets slamming Arizona prosecutor Juan Martinez and HLNTV's Nancy Grace. Arias' offensive comments on Twitter were addressed by Martinez in court earlier. The prosecutor announced that Arias has an account with the popular social media website and then asked that it be closed.
Fox 10 News learned that Arias speaks to Bering every night on the phone and tells her what to tweet to Arias' 18,000-plus followers. Bering has been sitting in the gallery during the three-month trial beside Arias' mother, Sandra Arias, and confirmed that she handles Arias' Twitter account.
"She'll call and say 'I have a quote,' " Bering told the news station. "We'll talk about it. Sometimes she says 'let's tweet.' And then she'll say 'no let's not do it. "I think it's a way of her getting out her frustration, because she doesn't have a chance to say much."
Arias, 32, has been on trial since Jan. 4 for murdering her ex-lover. According to police, she lied twice at first about how Alexander was killed and later admitted that she killed him in an act of self-defense. If she is convicted of the murder and the lies that she confessed to, she will likely face the death penalty and become the fourth woman in Arizona's history to die by lethal injection.
