Donald Trump Hot Mic VIDEO Fallout: Conservatives Ditch Him For Support Of Hillary Clinton, More Reactions To Scandal
The reactions and fallout continues to be wide when it comes to Donald Trump's leaked Hot Mic tape from 2005.
After Speaker of the House Paul Ryan announced he would no longer campaign on behalf of his party's nominee, other Conservatives have also spoken out against him, saying that they don't believe he should be elected into the White House.
One such Conservative is radio host Glenn Beck, who took to social media to explain that he'd rather vote for Hillary Clinton because compared to Donald Trump, she was an "Ethical" and "Moral" choice.
"Every person, each of us must decide what is a bridge too fat. Mike Lee has obviously reached that point, where the moral compromise his party is asking him to make is simply beyond what is acceptable. It is not acceptable to ask a moral, dignified man to cast his vote to help elect an immoral man who is absent decency or dignity," he wrote. "If the consequence of standing against Trump and for principles is indeed the election of Hillary Clinton, so be it. At least it is a moral, ethical choice."
"If she is elected, the world does not end...Once elected, Hillary can be fought. Her tactics are blatant and juvenile, and battling her by means of political and procedural maneuvering or through the media, through public marches and online articles, all of that will be moral, worthy of man of principal," he continued. "Her nominees can be blocked, her proposed laws voted down. The alternative does not offer a moral person the same opportunity. If one helps to elect an immoral man to the highest office, then one is merely validating his immorality, lewdness, and depravity. But it's OK, at least it is not her! Right?? No. Lee's call for Trump to step down and withdraw from the race is respectful to him and to the process. Trump stepping down does not guarantee a Clinton win, but it does guarantee that the Republican party still stands for something, still allows its members to maintain their own self respect and that it still has a future."
There have also been others who have attacked Trump for those comments, with The Daily Show host Trevor Noah attacking the candidate on his most recent episode of the show.
"Two things about that locker room excuse. First, they're conflating sex talk and sexual assault talk," Noah said. "Trying to make Trump's comments sound normal is not something they're achieving. Because, I'm sorry, that is not normal. There is a big difference between saying dirty words and glorifying non-consensual sexual contact. Not every guy has these conversations. No, that's a crime. There is a big difference...It's about him saying he forces himself on women."
"...By the way, Trump can try to excuse his behavior by calling it 'locker room talk,' but you realize he wasn't in a locker room. He was at a TV interview. If you conduct locker room talk everywhere, it's not the locker room, it's you motherf***er. It's you!" He added.
However, there are some who have come out in support of Trump, with Alaskan Senator Jeff Sessions even stating that he wouldn't classify the comments Trump made on the tape as sexual assault.
"This was very improper language, and he's acknowledged that," Sessions said. "...I don't characterize that as sexual assault. I think that's a stretch...It's not clear how he-how that would occur."
