Jodi Arias Live Stream WATCH ONLINE: Death Penalty Sentence Argued by Prosecutor Juan Martinez Based on 'Cruel Manner' (VIDEO)
Jodi Arias was found guilty for the first degree murder of her on-and-off lover Travis Alexander, on Wednesday.
A live court session for the next phase of the trial - the aggregation phase - will begin at 4 p.m. EST on May 9. The sensational murder trial's next phase can be watched online via the free live stream below.
During this phase, prosecutor Juan Martinez will present more evidence to the jury to prove Alexander's crime was committed in a cruel manner. "Cruel manner" is when a victim suffered physical and or mental pain, according to Arizona law. Martinez will also try to prove that Arias knew that Alexander would suffer.
Martinez might call in medical examiner Dr. Kevin Horn to testify if Alexander suffered before he died.
Arias' defense attorneys will also present evidence to debunk the claim that Alexander did not suffer. The jury will then decide based on testimonies from both sides if Alexander suffered.
If Arias is found not guilty, the case will end and the judge will sentence her in 30 to 60 days. During the sentencing the judge will decide and announce if Arias is given life in prison with or without parole.
If the jury decides that Arias is guilty for committing the crime in a cruel manner, Arias and her defense team, family members and or friends will plead for leniency and ask that she not die by lethal injection. If this happens, the jury will have to make a decision for the third time - if she should be sentenced to life in prison or death.
