The second to last episode of Scandal’s season 2 airs on Thursday and according to the preview clips, there are more surprises in store regarding the exposed love affair between Olivia and the president.

Episode 21 - titled Any Questions? - Fitz (the president) may confess his affair with Olivia to the public at a press conference. Cyrus, his White House chief of staff, is visibly upset about the damage control he must pursue after Fitz's wife revealed live on nation television during episode 20 that her husband has been cheating.

In the sneak peek, Cyrus tells Fitz the following: "Fine, I get this…you want to continue the affair…but you’re not giving up your place in history. You’re not giving up your place in history, you’re not giving up this office,”

“It's not too late to save your presidency, look at Clinton," he added.

"Clinton wasn't in love with Monica Lewinsky," Fitz fires back. "I am in love. With a woman who is not my wife. I want to be with her. Not in the shadows -- openly. And if that means I have to stop being president, so be it."

In the second preview clip, Olivia and Fitz are together the morning after the first lady's announcement. Olivia rambles ideas and suggestions on how to handle the the public's reaction to his affair, although she was not named in the first lady's interview.

"I will put my ear to the ground until I found out how the public is taking all this," Olivia tells Fitz.

"You don’t do anything. She’s my problem," the president replies. "I made a decision and I’m going to deal with it."

"You need me if you’re going to survive this," Olivia replies.

"Maybe. But you're not fixing or handling anymore Olivia. And if we are going to survive this...If you and I are going to make it together, you have to stand down…. Stand down," he adds. "And wait for me to do this on my own. You are not in charge of everything.”

Scandal airs at 10/9 p.m. Central on ABC.
