Sevyn Streeter was supposed to sing the National Anthem during Wednesday’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, but unfortunately, her attire resulted in the 76ers pulling her from the game.

On Twiter, Streeter shared the news with her many fans and followers, revealing she was wearing a “We Matter” jersey prior to the start of the game.

Below is the video she shared along with her shocking announcement.

Two days later, after several fans flooded Streeter with tweets, the organization released a statement regarding their decision to pull Streeter from the show and admitted that they made a mistake.

"We are sorry that this happened," the team said in a statement, via TMZ. "After receiving feedback from our players, basketball operations staff and ownership group, we believe that the wrong decision was made, and Sevyn should have been welcomed to sing."

"We apologize to her, and in an effort to move the conversation forward, we have reached out to offer her an opportunity to return and perform at a game of her choice,” the statement continued. "We are waiting to hear back.”
