Beyoncé Pregnancy Rumors Resurface After Singer Cancels Concert in Belgium
Rumors begain circulating once more that Beyoncé may be expecting her second child, after she canceled a concert in Belgium set to take place on Tuesday.
TMZ reported Tuesday that the Love on Top songstress canceled a concert in Belgium citing dehydration and exhaustion. Her rep said earlier that Beyonce was "awaiting word from her doctors before making a decision" about her scheduled performance at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp. In the end, the show was cancelled and will be rescheduled. Tickets from the original show can be used at the rescheduled event.
Beyoncé started her Mrs. Carter World Tour last month in Belgrade, Serbia. It is set to end on Aug. 5 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., but rumors began to surface that she was pregnant with her second child. Beyoncé and husband Jay-Z welcomed daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012. The New York Post on Monday cited music insiders that said Beyonce was expecting again. The publication also included pictures of what appeared to be a baby bump at the MET Gala she attended on May 6.
Beyoncé gave an interview to Good Morning America on May 6 about expanding her family. She said she wanted to give Blue Ivy a big sister but wasn't sure when.
"I would like more children," the singer said. "I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being big sister."
Beyoncé also said that she gone into protective mode ever since the birth of her daughter. Despite her status as a global superstar, she said her top priority remained being a mother. She wanted her daughter's well being to come before anything else.
"I just want to make sure that [Blue Ivy] can have a healthy, safe, normal life. ... In the back of my mind, she's my priority. And life is completely different now," she said.
Neither Beyoncé or Jay Z have released any statements confirming another pregnancy but Jay Z's mother told Us Weekly that her son enjoyed being a father to his little girl. Gloria Carter told the magazine that her son melted when Blue Ivy calls him "Papa." She said it warmed her heart to see what a great dad he was. She also answered if the couple would have more kids.
"I think so!" Carter said.
