'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Cast: Chace Crawford Re-enters Mix As Potential Christian Grey, Expresses Interest [VIDEO]
The 50 Shades of Grey rumor mill recently suffered a blow when Arrow's Stephen Amell declared that he was out of the Christian Grey running. However, it seems as though former Gossip Girl standout Chace Crawford has re-entered the mix as a potential suitor for the S & M-crazed CEO role.
The 27-year-old had spoken to FOX411 back in February about the saucy flick. Unlike Amell, the TV star seemed completely comfortable with the sexual part.
"I am only comfortable with S&M sex scenes! The other ones are just too simple and boring for me," Crawford joked.
Interesting enough, the character that Crawford plays on GG, Nate Archibald, has a lot of attributes in common with Grey. Both are extremely wealthy, good-looking and have been in relationships with woman who have a considerable age gaps between them.
However, Crawford would clearly be doing something unique, as the Grey character would come with a sex dungeon full of bondage gear.
Screenwriter Kelly Marcel, who is in the midst of penning the 50 Shades script, had stated that the flick would be staying true to the book with lots of sex and raunchiness, as the producers are shooting for an NC-17 rating, according to a write-up in Style Magazine.
Although the producers have yet to officially attach a director to the franchise, 50 Shades of Grey is slated for its big screen release in summer of 2014. The film will be shot in London.
