'Dancing With the Stars' 2016 Cast: James Hinchcliffe's 5 Best Performances From Season 23 [VIDEO]
IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe may not have been a household name heading into this season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, but he has certainly made a name for himself now.
Outside of the car racing community, Hinchcliffe wasn't exactly a known quantity compared to many of his competitors this season on DWTS. Yet, through determination and a likable personality, Hinchcliffe quickly rose to the top of the leaderboard with his consistently strong dances every week.
Hinchcliffe is now in the Dancing With the Stars finals with only three other celebs standing in his way of the coveted Mirrorball trophy. It remains to be seen if he and partner Sharna Burgess will be able to pull it off, but in the mean time, let's take a look back on his five best dances from the season.
Week 4 - Cirque du Soleil Night
Hinchcliffe's charisma and leading man potential was on full display with his quickstep during Cirque du Soleil Night. Both Hinchcliffe and Burgess were in total entertainment mode for this dance and barely missed a step while putting on one heck of a show.
Week 5 - Most Memorable Year Night
The reminder of Hinchcliffe's serious injury he sustained last year while practicing for the Indianapolis 500 made his "Most Memorable Year" dance even more impressive. Hinchcliffe and Burgess were all elegance for their tango set to the song "The Right Time" by Yves V feat. Mike James.
Week 6 - Latin Night
Hinchcliffe and Burgess' chemistry was present throughout their Rumba set to "Need the Sun to Break" by James Bay. Hinchcliffe's technique was even more impressive than ever as they received some of their best scores yet, a 38 out of 40.
Week 8 - Halloween Night
Burgess was sidelined due to a knee injury ahead of Halloween night so fellow pro Jenna Johnson filled in to dance with Hinchcliffe. Yet, the IndyCar driver managed to get even better, dancing in character as the Joker to Johnson's Harley Quinn. The Viennese waltz, set to "You Don't Own Me" by Grace feat. G. Eazy, was easily the most creative dance of the night and earned Hinchcliffe his first perfect score of the season.
Week 10 - Semifinal
For the semifinals, Burgess was able to return and she did so in impressive fashion. The pro danced the tango completely blindfolded while Hinchcliffe led, and it managed to be their most sensual dance yet. The dance concluded with a truly impressive handstand by Hinchcliffe, posing with excellent form over Burgess on a chair.
Dancing With the Stars concludes Monday and Tuesday at 8/7c and 9/8c, respectively, on ABC.
