The 66th annual Cannes Film festival continued on May 15 and a long list of heavy hitters attended the world famous event where twenty films from all over the world will compete for the coveted Palm D'Or.

Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Freida Pinto, Paz Vega and Bond girl Naomie Harris among others, joined The Great Gatsby's stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Isla Fisher on the red carpet Wednesday for the screening of the movie that was released in the United States on May 10.

On Thursday, during the second day of the festival, actress Emma Watson walked the red carpet and posed alongside director Sofia Copola and her co-stars of the soon-to-be-released movie The Blin Ring.

Many highly anticipated flicks will screen at the world's most luxurious film fest.

The nine person jury is led by Steven Spielberg. Nicole Kidman, Christopher Waltz, Bollywood actress Vidya Bala, among others. French actress Audrey Tatou will serve as host/mistress of the opening and closing ceremonies. Zulu, which is starring Orlando Bloom and Forest Whitaker, will close this year's festival.

Several of Cannes' Film Festival regulars have been included in the competition such as Steven Soderbergh, Coen Brothers and Roman Polanski.

Soderberg's Liberace biopic, Behind The Candelabra, starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon is going head-to-head against Coen Brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis starring Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan and John Goodman.

Also included in the competition: The Immigrant starring Joaquin Phoenix and Marion Cotillard, Polanski's Venus In Fur and the film Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian) with Benecio Del Toro.
