Justin Beiber Meltdown In Barcelona: Why The Pop Superstar Had To Punch A Fan [VIDEO]
What is with Justin Bieber and Europe? Almost every time the superstar is in the region, he gets into negative publicity. This time, Bieber was filmed punching a fan. Why did the encounter result to an assault? Here's the story.
The 22-year-old popular Canadian singer was in Barcelona for a performance when the punching incident happened, TMZ reports. Bieber was on his way to the show location when a fan approached his vehicle and stuck his hand in the car.
The "Love Yourself" singer reacted to what the fan did. Unfortunately, he reacted in a Muhammad Ali-esque manner, leaving the shocked fan bloodied. The report described it as a quick jab to the face. But, apparently, the punch was forceful enough to make the fan's upper lip bleed.
The incident happened way too swiftly that it wasn't clear why Justin Bieber reacted the way he did. For many people, this is another example of the pop singer's uncontrollable outbursts, which often happens when he is out and about in Europe. Is there something in the European air?
According to Hollywood Life, an insider close to Bieber said that the "Sorry" singer felt he had no other choice. This is why when the fan reached his hand inside the vehicle, Justin had to punch him.
"Justin felt threatened and reacted in the best way he thought possible," the insider revealed. "He doesn't want to hurt his fans obviously but he thought the fan overstayed his welcome throwing his hand in his face." As a result, Justin felt the need to defend himself.
In the video, the fan just seemed to be reaching out to Bieber in the hopes to be able to hold his idol. There did not seem to be any malicious intent in his actions. The fan did not even show any sign of aggression, or that he wanted to hurt the singer.
However, Justin previously mentioned how his interaction with fans could make him depressed. He also stated that he detests when his followers grab him for no reason or take pictures of him without his consent.
Just last year, Bieber was filmed yet again, throwing tantrums at a Cannes restaurant. This led to him storming out of the place and flipping a chair on his way out.
