Taylor Swift & Harry Styles Battle at Billboard Music Awards 2013 for Top Artist Honor [PHOTOS]
Exes Harry Styles and Taylor Swift are nominated for the Top Artist award at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards alongside Justin Bieber, Maroon 5 and Rihanna.
The former couple are battling it out in more than one category but with Top Artist being one of the most coveted awards of the night, fans are wondering who will take home the honor.
Swift is coming off of a year in which her album Red garnered the biggest debut sales week of any album in 2013, according to Billboard. She is currently on her U.S. tour with Ed Sheeran and her recent releases include 22 and I Knew You Were Trouble. At the mere age of 23, the singer already has a Golden Globe nomination under her belt along with Grammy wins.
One Direction is on a winning streak so far this year, taking home awards at the People's Choice Award, Radio Disney Award and a Kids' Choice Awards. The band released two albums in the U.S. in 2012: Take Me Home and Up All Night. They are currently on their world tour and will begin their U.S. performances in June.
Not only do Swift and Styles face each other, but only top contenders such as Boyfriend singer Justin Bieber, Stay songstress Rihanna and Daylight group Maroon 5.
Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 lead the finalists for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, with all three artists being finalists in 11 categories this year. Rihanna is competing in 10, Call Me Maybe's Carly Rae Jepsen is competing in nine and One Direction racked up eight nominations.
The 2013 Billboard Music Awards will air live on Sunday, May 19 at 8/7 p.m. Central on ABC. The ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
