Kate Middleton was seen treating herself to breakfast at a café on Tuesday, where she ordered a cappuccino and banana muffin before visiting an interior design center.

The duchess was spotted at Chelsea Harbour's Dome cafe and then spent the day browsing the shelves at a design spot. According to a source, she was looking for lighting at the Design Center of Chelsea Harbor, where she was shopping. She had checked out at least one fabric swatch before leaving the store.

"She just sat in the atrium like everyone else," a source told People magazine. "She was very polite and really nice – just totally normal. I didn't know it was her at first. I just thought, 'You look a lot like Kate Middleton.' Then it kind of dawned on me."

According to the source, Middleton looked tired after her shopping adventures.

"She was nice, but I think she was a bit tired," said the insider. "[She] had done a lot of shopping for someone who is so heavily pregnant. She didn't really say anything. She just pottered around looking at the fabrics. But she seemed really nice."

Middleton recently hired a housekeeper in preparation for her and Prince William’s new home inside Kensington Palace. Antonella Fresolone, was one of the queen’s top three housemaids and has been working at Buckingham Palace for over 10 years. She began working for the royal family after moving into a staff apartment at Kensington Palace.
