Taylor Swift & Zayn Malik: Stars Collab On Hot New Song For 'Fifty Shades Darker' LISTEN To Sexy Song Here [VIDEO, POLL]
Fans who were itching for some new music from Taylor Swift were given a present surprise just ahead of Christmas as the singer announced the release of her newest collaboration with none other than Zayn Malik-in a song the pair recorded for the upcoming Fifty Shades Darker movie.
Swift announced the song just ahead of its release on iTunes on her Twitter account, simply captioning a photo of the announcement as "T/Z/50," standing for both singers' initials and the popular sexy movie franchise.
The track is called "I Don't Wanna Live Forever," and features the two swapping verses throughout, with Malik taking on the chorus with his impressive falsetto, with the lyrics "I don't want to live forever, 'cause I don't want to be living in pain/I don't want to fit wherever, I just want to keep calling our name/'Til you come back home." It seems well-suited for the film, which follows the storyline of the second book in the franchise and explores how the relationship between Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey deepens over time.
The fanbase hungering for a new song from Swift seemed to quickly take to the new track, which debuted on U.S. iTunes at midnight Friday, and quickly rose to number one within an hour of the release, something Swift remarked on on her Instagram account.
It was the first new music from Swift in 2016. Malik, who left the band One Direction last year, released his debut solo album, Mind of Mine, back in March.
The collab could also be exciting for the pair because if received well enough by critics, it could follow the same path as The Weeknd's "Earned It," which became a hit when it was the lead song from the Fifty Shades of Grey Soundtrack, which won a Grammy, and also earned him an Oscar Nomination.
Swift also posted a short video clip for the song on social media as well, composed with scenes from the film. Take a listen below and tell us what you think in the poll!
