She's gone through a lot in the last year, and her own actions cost her the marriage she had with Jack (Peter Bergmann), but now that she seems to have come to terms with his not wanting to ever reunite, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will make a bold and unexpected move on The Young and the Restless.

As she copes with the fact that despite her best efforts, Jack doesn't want to give their marriage another try, Phyllis will be devastated, especially since she knows she's the one to blame for things going south since she had an affair with his brother, Billy (Jason Thompson). However, as she decides to embrace change, and potentially see if there is another way to get to Jack, she will do something unexpected and ditch her signature red locks in favor of ones that are blonde-and she will be excited when she debuts the look to her daughter, Summer (Hunter King).

"What do you think?" She asks in a preview clip for the Friday, Dec. 16 episode.

Summer will approve of her mother's change, though it will most certainly take many other people by surprise when she debuts it at the birthday party she and Nick (Joshua Morrow) decide to throw for Summer.

Meanwhile, Victor (Eric Braden) is reflecting on the year he has had as well, and the fact that it ended in a way he never expected, with Adam's death and none of his children interested in taking over Newman Enterprises when he decides to finally step back and retire. Now, as he realizes he needs to make amends with everyone in his life, and tries to find a suitable heir for his empire, he will reach out to his grandson, Noah (Robert Adamson), who he sabotaged earlier in the year by turning him in for the hit-and-run that almost killed Billy, and will apologize and remind him that he is always welcome to come back to the family company.

"I know you're angry with me son, but I want you to know that if you ever want to come back to Newman, the doors are always open for you," he says in the clip.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
