Carly Rae Jepsen took home the award for the Top Pop Song with Call Me Maybe at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards Sunday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Jepsen, who was also a celebrity presenter at the ceremony, was also nominated for Top New Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Digital Songs Artist. Her album Call Me Maybe was nominated for Top Hot 100 Song and Top Digital Song. It was also up for Top Radio Song, Top Audio Streaming Song and Top Video Streaming Song.
She beat Bruno Mars’ Locked Out of Heaven, Ellie Goulding’s Lights, One More Night by Maroon 5, and Payphone, by Maroon 5, which featured Wiz Khalifa.
Jepsen joined Jennifer Morrison and Emy Rossum in sporting a sexy see-through dress on the blue carpet. She showed off her legs in a lacy chiffon design dress by Kristian Aadnevik.
The singer said she was surprised that her song took off, according to E! News, saying, "So I think I'm just going to keep that mentality of not really focusing on the success of music and just more focusing on making good music, and I feel like that way, you can never go wrong."
After collaborating with Nicki Minaj for a remix of her song Tonight I’m Getting Over You, Jepsen said she wants to work with boyfriend Matthew Koma. She added that she also wants to work with Ne-Yo, whom she met at the Grammys.
