NBA trade rumors still haunt the Boston Celtics and continue to drag them in the rumor mills. Rumors online are speculating that a rumored deal between them and the Phoenix Suns is gaining steam and it involves Tyson Chandler and Amir Johnson as trade pieces that might likely happen before the trade deadline.

The Celtics have been one of the busiest team in trade market during the offseason. And up until now, they are said to be still trying to acquire a player that could boost their roster. Some say that one of their weaknesses is their interior defense and it looks like the Phoenix Suns got the asset they are looking for.

According to NBA Trade Rumors, a proposed trade deal between the Celtics and Suns is being recommended to both teams. Trade scenario is suggesting as follows:
1. The Boston Celtics will acquire Tyson Chandler from the Suns
2. The Phoenix Suns will then get Amir Johnson plus the Clippers 2019 first-round draft pick (via Boston) from the Celtics.

The Celtics will finally get the needed rim protector that they wished for aside from improving their interior defense. Though Chandler is already 34, he is a proven veteran that has a great playoff experience that can be a big boost for the Celtics postseason campaign. They will greatly benefit from getting his veteran leadership without giving up too much.

On the other hand, the Suns will also benefit from this trade by getting rid of Tyson Chandler's big contract and free up even more space to re-sign Alex Len. Johnson will also be a solid backup for Len in the center spot plus acquiring the first-round draft pick could be a big plus.

The trade will also work under NBA trade rules and salary cap restriction making it a legal deal for both teams as per checking with ESPN NBA Trade Machine. Having the approval of league official, it all makes sense for both teams to have this trade push thru.

Will the Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics agree to move Tyson Chandler and Amir Johnson before the trade deadline?
