iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Now Available; Pangu and Luca Todesco Advise Jailbreakers Downgrade To iOS 10.1.1
Many tech enthusiasts have been waiting for Pangu to release the iOS 10.2 jailbreak tool. But now that it has been made available, the jailbreaking team and Luca Todesco advised the jailbreakers to downgrade to iOS 10.1.1.
iTech Post has learned that a video from Cydia Magic has been uploaded earlier this month showed an iPhone installed with iOS 10.2. The video's background is a computer that displays the tool from Pangu, which connects to the device and is jailbroken after a few minutes.
It can be remembered that the group has basically failed to deliver the iOS 10 jailbreak tool to the public. Aside from Pangu, a jailbreaker named Luca Todesco, also boasted of breaking through Apple's newest and toughest security measures. Nevertheless, neither of the two has shared the tool to jailbreak their handsets.
Additionally, University Herald reported that while everyone was eyeing for Pangu's iOS 10 jailbreak tool, Luca Todesco stated that he will be releasing the jailbreak tool for iOS 10.1.1. Also, Todesco posted a tweet advising his followers to stay on iOS 10.1.1 and for others who have updated their software, they are advised to downgrade.
Downgrading to iOS 10.1.1 is essential since Apple Inc. is known for stopping firmware signing quickly. So once the company does so, it would be impossible to downgrade and therefore, it would no longer be conceivable to take advantage of a jailbreak tool once one is finally released.
As of the moment Luca Todesco is tight-lipped about his progress on the tool and he has not been replying to inquiries as of Dec. 16. This may indicate that he is doubling his effort for a release soon. But then, if everything went well, tech enthusiasts might see a release come early in 2017.
On the other hand, Pangu still has not released any official statement as of the moment, which also leaves the door open for surprises. But then if Apple Inc. continues to deliver strong updates quickly to its devices, this may indicate that the future does not look good for jailbreak enthusiasts.
