‘Justice League’ Movie: Official Cast Announcement Confirms Return Of Lex Luthor [VIDEO]
DC's Justice League movie is perhaps one of the most anticipated films of 2017, and it is understandably so as the movie will finally showcase the coming together of the world's greatest superhero team. While there is still not that much details that have been revealed regarding the film, Warner Bros. has already showcased some scenes that has given fans some idea of what to expect when the movie finally comes out.
Now, Warner Bros. has officially released the official list of cast members for the upcoming film, which has provided further clues to the events that will be transpiring. According to the list of cast members, via Movieweb, the previous movie's main antagonist, Lex Luthor played by Jesse Eisenberg, is now confirmed to be returning.
While it does not necessarily mean that he would be the one that the group would be facing in the next movie, his presence will undoubtedly be a welcomed one as the league faces its new foe. Based on the clues that were shown in deleted scenes from Batman V Superman, which ended up in the Ultimate Edition of the movie, the team of meta-humans could be facing against the army of Dark Sied, as led by the DC villain Steppenwolf.
However, the actor that portrayed Steppenwolf in the short scenes of the last movie, Ciaran Hinds, is noticeably not in the list, as pointed out by Comicbook. This might indicate that the team may not necessarily be facing him directly in the next movie and that the film itself might focus more on the formation of the League instead.
Aside from the absence of Steppenwolf, the cast list also confirms previous rumors of Superman's revival as indicated by Henry Cavill's presence in it. The circumstances of his resurrection is still unknown, but he is expected to join Batman, played by Ben Affleck, Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot,
Aquaman, played by Jason Momoa, The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, and Cybord, played by Ray Fisher, as they come together to battle a common enemy.
Justice League is set to hit theaters on Nov. 17, 2017.
