Jay-Z Drake Collaboration for 2013 New Music? PHOTO On Instagram Shows Rappers in Studio
Drake and Jay-Z are back in the studio making music together again.
The two rappers are seen standing side by side in a photo posted on Instagram by Def Jam A&R executive Lenny Santiago on May 18. While no details about the song's release date or title have been released, Santiago did disclose some cautionary information.
"Warning: Please be very afraid of the music we're working on. OVO x ROCNATION," he wrote as the photo's caption.
The collaboration marks the third time the two MCs work together on a song. Drake appeared on Jay-Z's Off That, a track from Hov's 2009 and most recent album, The Blueprint III. Jay-Z returned the favor a year later, spitting a verse on Drake's Light Up in 2010. The song appeared on the Canadian rapper's debut album Thank Me Later. Hov also offered some advice to the younger rapper on that track with the words, "Drake, here's how they are going to come at you, with silly raps for you, trying to distract you."
In regards to his on-going feud with Chris Brown, Drake seems to have taken Hov's words into consideration and hasn't let the conflict get in the way of his work. The 26-year-old rapper is working on this third album, Nothing Was The Same, which will be released later this year.
Jay-Z is also recording a new album, as confirmed by producer The Dream on Rap-Up.com last month. While the producer didn't reveal too much about the album, he did say that Timbaland and Swizz Beatz are two other producers also lending their talent on the record.
Another hint of Jay-Z's upcoming work was also snapped by Lenny Santiago. Last Tuesday, he posted another photo of Jay-Z on Instagram, this time standing next to Wu-Tang Clan rapper Raekwon with a caption that confirms the two are making music together. The album is also expected for release in 2013.
