AMD has finally decided to reveal that they will be showcasing the full Vega GPU architecture preview at CES 2017. Company has confirmed by posting a teaser on their twitter page. The upcoming showcase confirms that Vega GPU (or GPUs) are in ready situation and should make it for launch in Q1 2017.
The graphics card technology giant is preparing for something better instead. As per the new report, the giant chipmaker is likely to introduce the RX 500 GPU series, which will be on Vega 10 architecture with up to 16GB of HBM2 memory.
According to WCCFTech, the teaser was posted by AMD's official Radeon Twitter page, which indicates that AMD will introduce the RX 500 GPU series that will be on Vega 10 architecture. Also, the report says that AMD will bring forward a new GPU architecture for consumers in the 2017.
The "After the Uprising" teaser shows the wake of the Radeon Rebellion which started with the RX 400 series cards. AMD will be marching their upcoming chips against competitors as Vega is expected to offer a punch in overall performance and efficiency. The clip is short and the AMD has also launched a website ingeniously titled as ve.ga.
The website contains a countdown that marks the specific time on which AMD will be showcasing the preview of their Radeon Vega GPU.
The announcement came from AMD Radeon just a few days after NVIDIA announced that they will be show casing new technologies at their CES 2017 keynote. It's highly probable that NVIDIA will announce the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card at the event which will deliver higher performance increases over the GeForce GTX 1080 which is already one of the best high-end offerings in the market.
The report undertakes that new RX 500 card will be having a 16GB capacity for the enthusiast market and 8GB for the general consumer, while the former one will have a 2048-bit memory bus (2 HBM2 stacks) at 1000 MHz or a 4096-bit memory bus (4 HBM2 stacks) at 500 MHz.
As for the real-world performance of the RX 500 series, the same report pointed to recent benchmark testing from AMD that showcased the Vega 10 GPU outmuscling its nearest competition. And with the HBM2 memory, the card is also said to be optimized with AI or artificial intelligence acceleration
AMD is expected to give more details on the Vega GPU at CES 2017 and the new RYZEN CPUs which are also coming out in Q1 2017.
