Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Divorce? Couple Still In 'Polite Stage' After Nasty Fights ? [VIDEO]
They had hit a reported rough path at the end of last year following her robbery and his hospitalization, and though things are getting better, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are still in a "polite" stage and not back to normal just yet.
According to People, the couple are getting along following their tough few months, but things are still tense.
"Kanye and Kim are still in that very polite stage after a blowup," a source told the magazine. "They're getting along better, but it's still a difficult time."
According to the source, the two are generally keeping their conversations superficial, and they're trying to work things out, but the forced politeness is also taking it's toll.
"He might as well be talking to a stranger," the source said. "They're trying, but things are still raw."
The two reportedly hit a major rough patch as they dealt with other major issues during the fall months of 2016. Tensions began after Kardashian was tied up and held at gunpoint as robbers stole $10 million worth of jewelry from her in a Paris hotel room back on October 3. Things only got worse as West dealt with the anniversary of his mother's death, and his own stress over his tour. He was then hospitalized for "exhaustion" after an alleged psychotic break for over a week.
As the pair also work to fix their marriage, they are also working on West getting some help with his issues, especially over his mother's death, and the two even took their children, North, 3 and Saint, 1, to visit her grave last week.
"Kanye still doesn't have closure about his mother, and I don't know that he ever will. [Her death] was unexpected, and he had no time to prepare for it. When the anniversary comes along, it's like the wound is reopened. Some years, he does okay in managing it. Other years, not as much. This was a year where things went off the rails."
The news comes shortly after Kardashian made her long-awaited return to social media, sharing a photo of herself with her husband and kids on Instagram on Jan. 3. It was her first post in three months.
