'Fast & Furious 6' Premiere in Los Angeles & Trailer VIDEO; Michelle Rodriguez Talks the Franchise's Future
With the sixth installment coming to theaters in a few days, the cast of Fast & Furious 6 walked the red carpet in Los Angeles on Tuesday for their film's premiere.
The film is set primarily in London and features Dwayne Johnson's character, Agent Luke Hobbs, going after an organization of mercenary drivers. One of the people running this organization happens to be Letty, whom Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) happens to love. The character was thought to be dead after a car explosion in Fast & Furious 4. It becomes a conflict of interest when Toretto and Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Connor, are asked to stop the mercenaries.
Michelle Rodriguez - who wore a one-sleeved, hip-hugging white gown at the premiere - said she is excited for her character's return in this movie.
"First you feel this love, this warm, fuzzy feeling in your chest, where you're like, "Wow, all that hard work I put into making Letty a respectable character, that work was appreciated." she told Vulture in an interview.
She also said those feelings were mixed with some pressure, saying, "All right, they brought you back, now prove you're worth it."
Ludacris, who plays Tej Parker, is also back for the sixth movie. He made sure to stay true to his musical career, however, by performing at the Los Angeles premiere of the film along with rapper Wiz Khalifa. Ludacris, whose real name is Chris Bridges, also recorded a song with Usher and David Guetta called Rest Of My Life. The track appears on the movie's soundtrack.
There are talks that the highly successful franchise, which began back in 2001, might come back for a seventh time, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
"[It's] when the people say. When they stop buying tickets. They're the producers," Rodriguez told ET after being asked when Fast & Furious will end. "It's worse than kick-starter honey. I'm here. I'm back. I'm living proof."
Get ready for fast driving when the movie hits theaters on Friday.
