Nick Cannon Diagnosed with Autoimmune Disease
Paging Dr. House. Nick Cannon is suffering from a "lupus-like" disease.
The 31-year-old father of twins and husband to Mariah Carey was hospitalized last January for kidney failure, then readmitted weeks later when blood clots were found in his lungs. Doctors later told Cannon his health troubles were the result of an autoimmune disease.
"The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because ... I've known people who have passed away from that," Cannon told People. "I thought I was getting better, and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere."
Workaholic Cannon was ordered to slow down and even resigned as host from his morning radio show in New York City to prevent further complications.
"It's a lot of stuff," Cannon said, "but it's all in order now."
