It seems that 2017 has been targeted as a comeback year for many smartphone manufacturers. Lenovo joins a select few that is raring to make it back to the top of the industry's elite list.

With this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) approaching, the Chinese tech firm has been handling out overtures of participation in the said summit. Although the details have been kept under wraps, observers perceive that the company is on its way to unveil a new product.

Considering that Lenovo's Moto brand has gone offline for some time now, divulging it at the global conference makes it certain to revitalize the organization's presence in the mobile community.

Based on a leak found at the popular Chinese social network Weibo, the Moto G5 Plus device has been cited as a promising item to reckon with. Judging from its similarity with the Moto X handset, observers think that the G5 will be the next generation variance of the Motorola series.

However, TechDroider has pointed out that the upcoming flagship, which carries the XT1670 identification and the Cedric codename, will not resurrect the Moto X. It is the Romanian domain OLX that has confirmed the identity of the Lenovo Moto G5 Plus when the brand was posted on its site.

If rumors are to be believed, the new Moto unit will be presenting a 5.5-inch frame with full HD display. The octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor from Qualcomm manages the device.

The G5 Plus will also have a 4GB RAM that goes with a 32GB storage capacity. Its OS will be spearheaded by the Android 7.0 Nougat.

It is anticipated that the battery will carry a 3.080mAh energy capability. A fingerprint sensor has been integrated into the next generation Moto unit.

The smartphone has a 13MP primary camera that is backed by a 5MP secondary one. It is equipped with an Adreno 506 graphics processor with a clocking process of 2.0GHz.

In addition, it is also perceived that Lenovo will be introducing the Moto Z variant Moto Mods during the MWC in Spain.
