Law enforcement authorities arrested actress Amanda Bynes at her apartment in New York City on Thursday night for reckless endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and physical possession of marijuana, officials confirmed.

Police were called to her Midtown Manhattan apartment on West 47th Street after receiving a report that a disorderly person was on the premises, NBC reported. The doorman called police to report that Bynes was smoking marijuana in the lobby, but when police arrived, she was gone and had retreated to her apartment on the 36th floor.

Police went to her residence and saw a bong when Bynes opened the door to answer. She allegedly then tossed the bong out the window but officers reported a "heavy" smell of marijuana in the apartment.

A photo was taken of Bynes wearing a long blonde wig as she is being led to central booking after her arrest. She declined to answer questions as she was led by officials, according to New York Post.

The 27-year-old was reportedly taken to Roosevelt Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation before heading to a Midtown police station for processing, according to sources.

Bynes is currently under probation for driving with a suspended license. The plea deal, finalized in a California court earlier this month, placed Bynes under three years of probation. The case involved Bynes' legal troubles from March 2012, when police pulled her over for talking on a cellphone while driving. She sped away as police were writing her up.

The former Nickelodeon star also has a DUI case from 2012 pending in Beverly Hills.
