HTC upcoming new smartwatch offering, codenamed "Halfbeak," has been popping up in rumor reports since early last year. Fans who have been waiting for a new HTC smartwatch were then treated to a glimpse of the device back in October, after several photos had leaked online. Now, new leaks have emerged via China's Weibo website, which shows some more details about HTC's alleged new product.

Due to the lack of any updates on HTC's alleged new smartwatch since October, consumers had thought that the device might have altogether been scrapped by the company. However, according to Android Authority, the new leaks have confirmed that there is now at least a prototype of the device being tested out.

The overall look of the HTC "Halfbeak," which is sometimes referred to as the HTC One Watch, is still pretty similar to ones shown on the previously leaked photos. The new images however, give fans a closer look at some of the device's design aspects, including its dedicated buttons on the right, its circular profile, and its Under Armor branding at the back.

The unit shown in the leaked photos also shows the device running the older version of Android Wear and Google Play. However, given that Android Wear 2.0 has already been revealed to be coming out early next month, HTC may very install the new operating system if they do decide to release their alleged smartwatch.

As for the device's rumored release, the HTC One Watch, or whatever is will be called, is expected to debut at the upcoming 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) event slated for late February and early March. According to WCCFTech, the release of the latest Android Wear version would also be the perfect time to release a new wearable product, seeing as that the new operating system will likely add more value to devices released shortly after.

There is no guarantee that the device will be appearing at the event, but all of the clues does point to it being a very big possibility.
