'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales'--New Synopsis Reveals Jack Sparrow's New 'Dying Gull' Ship and More [VIDEO]
Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow is set to sail the high seas once again in Disney's latest swashbuckler installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. With the movie's release date looming ever closer, details regarding the new film is now slowly being released.
While a lot of the plot's details can be surmised from the recently released official teaser trailer, there are still some questions about what the movie will be featuring. When the movie's first trailer was released, it was accompanied by the release of the movie's synopsis. Disney has once again published the movie's synopsis in a press release this week, but this time, there seems to be some details that have been added.
According to ComicBook, the new synopsis for the fifth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has now revealed the name of the ship Jack Sparrow will be helming during the start of the movie. Jack's ship, called the Dying Gull, is described in the new synopsis as a "pitiful small and shabby ship." The ship itself will likely be a small vessel that Jack has been forced to command, which is a far cry from the ship he used to have called The Black Pearl.
Aside from Jack's new ship, another report from Den of Geek has revealed that audiences may also be seeing other characters in the upcoming new movie. It has already been revealed that Orlando Bloom will be returning as Will Turner.
The character mentioned in the synopsis, Henry, played by Brenton Thwaites, is rumored to be Turner's son. His description of being a boy trying to find his father does add more credibility to the rumor, seeing as that Turner is currently the captain of the Flying Dutchman, and is only allowed to step on dry land once every ten years.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will also be starring newcomers Kaya Scodelarion as Carina Smyth, and Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar. The movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 26.
