Ever since Amanda Bynes announced she was retiring from acting, the former Nickelodeon star has been involved in a series of troubling incidents.

Bynes announced in September of last year that she was leaving acting. Since then the 27-year-old has taken various unusual Twitter pictures and crafted confusing and concerning tweets. Bynes' most recent problem took the form of a legal problem.

After allegedly throwing a bong out the window of her 36th floor New York apartment, Bynes was charged with reckless endangerment, attempted tampering with evidence and marijuana possession, according to the Daily News.

Now the child star's friends are speaking out in concern. Jonathan Jaxson spoke with Access Hollywood, claiming to be a friend of Bynes.

"I have tried for weeks now to get Amanda the help she so desperately needs, to little accord... until yesterday, when someone near her shared with me [the news that] she had cut her remaining hair off and was pacing up and down her hall talking to herself,'" Jaxson said.

Bynes' bizarre behavior makes her friends fear she may harm herself. Jaxson said that the media's constant hounding and encouragement are not helping the situation.

"I am scared every day of waking to tragic news that Amanda is no longer with us. People must stop provoking her and being 'yes' people and stand up and share their love and support for her. That's my main request," Jaxson concluded, according to Access Hollywood.

Bynes was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court on July 9.
