iMac 2017 Release Date & Specs: Arriving In Q1 2017 With Kaby-Lake, 5K Display, AMD Polaris 10 GPU, & More [Video]
Apple did not take the wraps off a new iMac at its September event given a lot of disappointment to the tech buffs. Some optimistic tech experts believed that Apple would release the device during an exclusive Macbook Pro launch event but that didn't come to final result either.
Numerous reports that attribute Apple's decision to delay the new iMac's launch are due to lack of Intel's new processors. It was also exposed that Apple might employ Polaris, which is AMD's newest generation of graphics chips and ultimately unify them for its next generation of iMac 2017 edition. In spite of the recent arrival of both the components, the technology realm is still waiting for the consumer variants of Polaris chips for the mainstream.
There are only rumors about the iMac 2017 specs, which says that the iMac 2017 would be equipped with 4.2GHz Intel Core i7-7700 Kaby Lake chipset. The said chip which is rumored for the 2017 iMac is capable of overclocking to 4.8GHz. Such specs associate to some serious processing power, and numerous Apple fans have remarked that the chip would actually be enough to provide a suitable VR experience in the upcoming iMac.
Amidst the lack of an official announcement, the internet is overflowing with reports suggesting at an impending arrival of the iMac 2017. However, MacWorld suggests the new iMac would be announced during this year's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is not scheduled to take place anytime soon.
However, there is a possibility that Apple might not even choose to reveal a new iMac since the company is currently focussed more on designing their computing needs with portability given the highest priority, the MacBook Pro 2017 being a perfect example citing its absurd price.
Meanwhile, a different report from PC Advisor says that the device might get launch at March or at least a Q1 2017. The publication cites a recent internal Q&A session where Tim Cook has expressed that Apple has a few desktops worth waiting for in the roadmap.
However, since Apple's 2016 release wasn't really rationalized to the company's usual calendars, Apple's next move could come as a total surprise. While these are only speculations until the Cupertino Company either confirms or debunks these reports related to iMac 2017 release date and specs.
