Lady Gaga 2017: 'Joanne' Singer Announcing World Tour Following Super Bowl? [VIDEO]
Lady Gaga is going on tour again, and she will make the announcement alongside her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show.
Gaga will be going on a world tour to promote her new album, Joanne, says a new report from Us Weekly. The pop star is expected to make the official announcement Monday morning, after her big Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday.
The eccentric superstar is rehearsing nonstop for her Super Bowl performance, which is rumored to include some sort of stunt on the roof of NRG Stadium. Gaga revealed on Boston's Mix 104.1 radio Monday that the NFL has been very supportive of everything she intends to do at the big game.
"First of all, there's a lengthy process to go through, meeting with the NFL and sort of applying and discussing what you would do in the first place," she explained. "I think that part of how they decide who is going to come and do the halftime show is based on our ideas and what we want to do. They were really excited about the show we wanted to put on. They've been super supportive. They've been there every day at the rehearsal space with us and cheering me on as I rehearse. It's been great."
There were other rumors suggesting the NFL had told Gaga not to make any sort of political statement during her halftime show, but a rep for the NFL stated otherwise. The spokesperson said it's "nonsense from people trying to stir up controversy where there is none. ... The Super Bowl is a time when people really come together. Lady Gaga is focused on putting together an amazing show for fans and we love working with her on it; we aren't going to be distracted by this."
The Super Bowl will air live Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
